Cincinnati String Project in your home.

Chamber music is meant for small, intimate spaces, and many great pieces for string quartet were first heard in private homes. We love returning these pieces to their natural habitat by performing house concert fundraisers!

Our mission is to teach our collaborative way of working to our students. By hosting a house concert, you’ll experience it up close while helping us share it with more students!

FAQs

  • Our house concerts include 45 - 50 minutes of music, as well as brief remarks about our backgrounds, our rehearsal process, and what we pass on to our students through the Cincinnati String Project.

  • We usually play a mixture of classical pieces, tangos, and popular songs, as well as fiddle and folk song arrangements. For more information about specific repertoire, please contact nat@cincinnatistringproject.org

  • Of course! We want folks to enjoy the show and be comfortable. “As we are providing a full concert experience, we do ask that guests help us create an engaging performance atmosphere.”

  • We ask for a donation of $5,000, all of which goes directly to CSP’s education program, and is fully tax deductible.

  • With your donation, you make it possible for four of our students to participate in the Cincinnati String Project for one full year. Each student receives free weekly lessons and chamber music coachings totaling over 70 hours of instruction!

  • If you want to, of course! Some of our hosts ask their guests to join them in donating for the evening, and others prefer to make the donation themselves.
